Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation (RF), Director of the Russian-Polish Centre for Dialogue and Understanding.

Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Doctor of Sciences (History).

Served at the USSR/Russia Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was posted in a number of overseas diplomatic missions, including: Sudan, Yemen, Egypt, and Libya. Ambassador to Kuwait, Turkey and Israel.

Deputy Head of the Middle East and North Africa MFA Department. Director of the Historical Archives Department of the RF MFA.

Author of many books and monographs on the history of Russian diplomacy.

Recipient of state awards and honorific titles.
