Maiden training “Global Internet for Russian business” on the role and potential of online resources in the public and corporate diplomacy was held at the RIAC Summer School in St. Petersburg.
The training is aimed at promoting Russian companies in foreign target audiences as high-quality and effective English-language site has become a decisive factor of international communications, while the Internet is a de facto window into the global world. The new program vividly reflects the mission and motto of RIAC – “Together into the Global World.”
The training reveals basic requirements for an effective online resource. Getting acquainted with the best and worst practices through a series of case studies, the participants developed skills to assess online resource problems and their solutions through targeted exercises. Upon completion, participants received background materials and memos to help in their practical work.
Based on a year-long RIAC research and pilot study, the training material includes the methodology of assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the website and database of more than fifty cases.
“The end product is of multi-purpose nature and practicable for solution of educational, research and applied problems of Russian companies,” says RIAC Program Director Ivan Timofeyev.
